TAYLORS FALLS BOAT HOUSE & STAIRWAY
AMI was retained by the National Parks Service to perform design services for this project. The project included removal of two existing boathouses located at the shoreline, restoration of riverbank stability and native vegetation where demolition occurred. It also included renovation and replacement of a series of eight river access stairs.
An ATV rated pedestrian bridge was designed to cross a natural ravine. The design of the new river access stairs needed to minimize risk of damage from ice and snow build up at the riverbanks during the winter season.
AMI performed inspection of existing structures and produced an inspection summary report of existing structures, including general conditions, deficiencies, and conceptual design solutions. This project was designed with a low-impact state of mind. Existing landscape features were considered when implementing an access route for transporting machinery to their respective sites, including survey work to navigate around existing landscape features such as trees. Services also included topographic survey, design development, construction documents, and permitting.
