AMI provided structural renovation and evaluation to the three story (heavy timber masonry perimeter) historical building for the National Park Service at Keweenaw National Park, Calumet, MI. Evaluation of the existing structure was done to accommodate the new use and heavier loading. AMI completed schematic design of structural improvements to enhance the performance of the historic structure. Repair of numerous damaged or modified members were needed to support the new loading. Development of multiple options for each structural deficiency, with varying costs implications and impacts to period of significance, was provided.
