Structural Engineer 5-15 Years’ Experience

AMI Consulting Engineers, P.A. is currently seeking a structural engineer with 5-15 years’ experience with comprehensive design experience to join our team in our Superior, WI or St. Paul office. The preferred candidate will be responsible for the assessment, planning, and execution of structural designs on a wide range of projects.

Candidate should possess excellent written and oral communication skills, with impeccable follow through while taking ownership in each project assigned. The successful candidate must have experience in serving the engineering needs of clients by providing exceptional professional service. They should be enthusiastic about their work, enjoy variety, and like problem solving. This candidate should also be collaborative, honest, and have a helpful disposition with a positive “can-do” attitude.  Abundant opportunities exist for professional growth and advancement. Travel and field work may be required to complete projects.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage scope, schedule, and budget for projects assigned.

• Provide technical direction for the coordination, planning, and execution of engineering projects including new construction and modifications to industrial and marine structures.

• Prepare construction documents, detailed calculations, and specifications for structural systems within established schedule and budget.

• Independently perform detailed calculations for moderate to complex analyses and structural systems

• Lead and coordinate with other project team members to ensure successful completion of small to midsize projects

• Assist with mentoring less experienced engineers and technicians.

• Perform site visits, collect field data, perform research and analysis, and preparation of field reports.

• Review contractor submittals during construction for conformance to construction document requirements

• Preparation of construction cost estimates

• Working knowledge of current industry software: RISA 3D, RAM, Mathcad, AutoCAD, and Revit.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering

• 5 to 15 years’ experience in design of structural components and systems including concrete, masonry, steel, wood, cold formed steel, precast concrete, etc.

• Experienced in the design of buildings and industrial structures and other marine and coastal structures.

• Engineer with PE

• Self-starter, results driven.

• Willing and able to grow into a position leading the building structural design group.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Additional Qualifications and Experience:

• 5+ years of structural design of marine and coastal structures.

• Skilled in the design of steel, wood/timber, precast, concrete, and composite structures.

Compensation:
